Despite a bitterly cold wind chill, Allen residents and businesses showed up in force at the annual FOX 4 Toys for Tots drive at Allen Event Center. Over 7,200 toys were donated in just five hours, warming the heartstrings of everyone involved.
Families and local businesses dropped off toys by the carload while passionate volunteers braved cold conditions to collect what quickly became a towering pile of toys. Working alongside the U.S. Marine Corps were members of the Allen High School JROTC program and volunteers from the Allen Americans, Dallas Sidekicks, Marine Corps League of Collin County, Raytheon, Sport Clips and Two Men & A Truck.
Graciously donating food and beverages for all of the hard-working volunteers were CiCi's Pizza, Paradise Bakery and Raising Canes.
Thanks to the community's abundant spirit of giving, Allen's less fortunate children will now have a bright holiday season.
